The XR Awards is the premier celebration of innovation and excellence in immersive technologies, spanning virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR).

This new flagship event is the result of a strategic merger between two respected awards programs: AIXR’s XR Awards and Stereopsia’s European XR Awards®. By uniting their vision and reach, the XR Awards establishes a new benchmark for global recognition in the XR industry.

A Unification of Global and European XR Excellence

In 2025, AIXR joined United XR Europe, bringing together the influence of AWE, Stereopsia, and AIXR under one unified platform. This partnership has created the largest XR competition to date, dedicated to celebrating outstanding achievements and innovations across the immersive technology ecosystem.

The XR Awards sets a new standard by showcasing the full spectrum of immersive innovation—from enterprise solutions and technological breakthroughs to artistic expression and societal impact.

• Entries Open: 24 April 2025
• Entries End: 9 September 2025
• United XR Europe (Brussels): 8–10 December 2025
• XR Awards Gala (Brussels): 9 December 2025

Eligibility

For European XR Awards® Categories

• Must have been produced or at least 30% co-produced in Europe
• Must have been completed between 4 August 2024 and 15 August 2025
• Contents must be narrative live action or animation (with or without interactivity), or VR games
• Contents must not have been submitted to Stereopsia previously
• If the content is a sequel, at least 50% of it must be new material
• All XR immersive formats accepted: VR (autonomous & single-computer powered headset), AR

For AIXR XR Awards Categories

• The project must be specifically designed to fulfill the intended purpose of the category it was submitted to
• Nomination eligibility: open to direct submissions or nominations on behalf of clients
• Must have been released or updated between 4 August 2024 and 15 August 2025
